This month I am going to discuss some romantic spots to take a date on and around campus. There are plenty of great places in Gainesville that allow you treat your date to a great time.
The first date that I am going to tell you about is located at downtown Gainesville, which is about five minutes from campus. You can start the day off by either driving or walking to downtown, and then picking a great restaurant to eat at. There are many great restaurants downtown, but my favorites are Dragonfly and Original American Kitchen. After you treat your date to a nice dinner, you can take them to Hyppo, which is a cool, gourmet popsicle shop. After treating your date to dessert, you can then go to Rocky’s Dueling Piano Bar, which is my favorite thing downtown. At Rocky’s, they obviously have dueling pianos, and it is an absolute blast. You can put in a suggestion for any song you want, and just dance all night.
Another great spot to take a date is Paynes Prairie, which is a prairie about 20-25 minutes away from Gainesville. At Paynes Prairie, you’ll be able to see both the sunrise and the sunset due to its amazing observation deck. It is a great place to just relax, have a picnic, and watch the sunset with your date.
Another cool date at the University of Florida is to just stay in and relax. You can stay in with your date, and order some Relish to be delivered to your dorm or apartment. Relish is a local restaurant that has great burgers. After you finish your Relish, you can order some Midnight Cookies, which will probably be the best cookies you’ll ever have.
Those three dates are just a few of the many things you can do in and around the Gainesville area.
